Announcing the Nevada Archives Navigator
The Nevada State Archives is thrilled to announce the launch of a new online discovery website, the Nevada Archives Navigator. The purpose of the website is to increase public discovery and use of historical materials located in the archives of participating Nevada organizations.
The Nevada Archives Navigator describes manuscripts, records, photographs, maps, oral history interviews, and audiovisual materials created by individuals, businesses, organizations, and government entities throughout the state, dating back to the mid-1800s. The new website provides information on where to find and how to access these original materials at locations across Nevada.
The website is in the early stages of development. Participating organizations are actively adding and enhancing their collection descriptions. The founding organizations are:
- Nevada State Archives
- Nevada Historical Society
- Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas
- Stewart Indian School Cultural Center and Museum
The Nevada Archives Navigator is a service offered by the Nevada State Archives. Visit the About the Navigator webpage to learn more.
The Nevada Archives Navigator began as a pilot project partially funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities. The project was a collaboration with Atlas Systems, Inc. using the ArchivesSpace application.
